Self Released (2018)
Bindi-Eye is an experimental/ psychedelic/ post-punk project out of Chandler from the mind of Zach Wubbena (Sun Conscious) along a few familiar friends on the newest effort, Soapbox Synthesis.
Here are some more records released over the last year that made us all warm and tingly all over. If you missed part 1, you can check it out here.
Once again, there is no order to these, just solid recordings from bands we’ve been checking out and encourage you to as well if you’ve been in desperate need of something actually good to listen to.
We try to keep up on album reviews here, but obviously suck at that. Regardless, we still listen to everything despite rarely getting around to writing about it or managing to get the writers to actually turn stuff in. We’re a fucking punk zine, what did you expect?
Everyone’s favorite and loveable Misfit, Glenn Danzig, is no stranger to ending up in the news regularly for some pretty absurd reasons such as picking up supplies for his kittens, angrily throwing bricks after a number of complaints from his neighbors, eating cake, beating up on photographers, and getting knocked out by local band North Side Kings’ very own Danny Marianino back in 2004.
Punks and Metalheads alike can all agree on their appreciation of his hi-jinks and absolutely cannot deny his love of furry felines and snacks. While he was busy this year putting out new music, promoting, and performing for fans (aka real work), he also found time to give us even more reasons to love him and participate in our favorite sport: Danzig Watching. Without further ado, I give you The Best Danzig Moments of 2017 with the sincerest of hopes that 2018 will top it.
Missiles of October
Pogo Records/ Ebus Music/ Trummer Records/ Forbidden Place Records/ What’s For Breakfast Records/ Skate Pizza Records (2016)
While this one isn’t exactly new, it was sent to us out of the blue from a Belgian band of old punks, Missiles of October, and was definitely a nice surprise. You like surprises, right?
Bleach Party, USA
Mystic Records (2017)
Serious times call for serious measures. In a time where everybody is so goddamned serious about and offended by everything, Bleach Party, USA comes rolling off the bus from Tucson to piss in your neighbors plants with their old school sensibility and traditional punk-chuckle-fuck sense of humor ready to have a good time. For what punker amongst us hasn’t a legendary prank of questionable taste in their arsenal?
