It’s no secret that we may be a little excited for the 666th Annual Punk Rock Halloween Bash coming up this Friday and Saturday at The Yucca Tap Room. To be fair, we’ve been patiently waiting for months while watching details about the show unravel. The anticipation has been painful, and now the reckoning upon us.
First I want to thank everyone who came out to celebrate our 6th anniversary and my birthday, it was a great time and yes I did get a bit inebriated despite my best attempt not to over do it. Big thanks to Gaby Kaos for organizing, setting up and running the entire show, I cant thank her enough! Thanks to the awesome bands that played that night.
This year we decided to celebrate the fact that AZ KAOS is now in it’s 6th year of existence. What started as an idea a couple of friends had has gone from a Myspace page, to a DIY printed zine to the website we have now. To me this is still new and just getting started as there is so much more I, Mikey Kaos and partner in crime Gaby Car want to do and accomplish…got to have dreams right? We are covering our second Punk Rock Bowling festival as press, covered KUKQ’s That Damn Show and continue to do countless local shows around the valley. We are working with more and more record labels and bands to get the word out on new stuff and making friendships with all kinds of people involved in the scene, far and wide. Not too shabby I would say and there is a lot more awesome things to come.

Slime and the Boobytramps have been around for roughly 3 years now and have managed to stay under the radar until recently. After a few (seemingly constant) line-up changes and numerous shows over the years, it would seem that their day is finally coming. As far as the Arizona punk scene goes, it’s of my personal opinion that The Boobytramps are one of the few local bands that has a firm grasp on what punk rock is all about. They’re loud, fast, dirty and most importantly, have fun; from playing live with fly head hats or dead rock star masks to writing songs that have a slight twist of demented humor in them. Besides, anyone that has a song about a cat lady or seeing Elvis at Walmart getting on the bus is most definitely a band after my own heart.
